COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Buckeyes are headed to Pasadena. On New Years Day Ohio State will be taking on the Washington Huskies. Tickets are already on sale.
Travel agencies like Reynolds Travel phones have been ringing non-stop
“At about 12:30pm with the announcement was official, the phones went crazy,” said Ike Reynolds, owner of Reynolds Travel.
Ohio State will be making their 15th Rose Bowl appearance. Hoping to repeat that magic moment from 2010 when the Buckeyes beat Oregon 26 to 17.
“I’m just taken aback by Buckeye Nation and how they travel to see the Buckeye games,” said Reynolds.
Reynolds Travel has been selling bowl game tickets to fans for decades.
“Our price is $3,055 a person,” said Reynolds.
That includes a four-night charter air package.
Buckeye fan George Hiles is considering making that trip down to California.
“It’s the granddaddy of all bowls. I’ve been there before and I love it,” said Hiles.
Hiles started going to Buckeye games in 1952. He’s only missed two regular season games and the last time he went to a see his beloved Buckeyes in a bowl game was 2-years ago at the Fiesta Bowl.
“I would go to the Rose Bowl in a heartbeat. It’s a great trip,” said Hiles.
Individual tickets for the game are on sale at The Ohio State University Football homepage. Starting at $180 you can watch the Buckeyes play in California
The university has a warning for fans who plan to purchase tickets and that is to beware of scammers. Approximately 300 people at the Ohio State Michigan game discovered their tickets were invalid.
OSU will no longer allow print-at-home PDF tickets for athletic events. Telling fans to stick with hard copy tickets or mobile tickets.
