Cale Millen, 3-star QB and son of Washington Huskies legend, signs with Oregon Ducks

Cale Millen

Commitment date: May 6, 2018

School: Mount Si High School (Snoqualmie, Washington)

Position: Quarterback

Height/weight: 6-foot-4, 190 pounds

Top scholarship offers: Arizona State, Northwestern, Oregon and UCLA

Rankings: Rivals – 3-star prospect, nation’s No. 20 pro-style quarterback; 247Sports – 3-star prospect, nation’s No. 18 pro-style quarterback; ESPN – 3-star prospect, nation’s No. 19 pocket-passer

How he fits: College football programs generally try to get a quarterback in every class.

Millen is Oregon’s answer at the quarterback position in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

As an aside, he’s got the genetics.

Hugh Millen, Cale’s dad, was a Washington Huskies legend and long-time NFL quarterback.

Projection: It was one of the worst years in modern history for quarterbacks across the nation. and the options were particularly slim on the West Coast.

Oregon ended its search early by securing Millen, who has all the tools to develop into a quality Pac-12 Conference quarterback, but still needs to learn how to put it all together.

If Justin Herbert comes back, Millen is a sure-fire redshirt candidate. However, if Herbert declares for the NFL draft Millen will compete for the starting gig, and likely end up a back-up option who can play in four games but keep his redshirt intact.
