Jesuit (Carmichael, Ca.) LB Laiatu Latu, one of the top pass-rushers left on the board, made his college decision today, 13 hours before he can sign with a school, and the choice was Washington.
Latu chose the Huskies over offers from schools like Alabama, Georgia, Stanford, Cal, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee and Florida although, in the end, most believe it came down to a battle between Washington and USC.
As a senior this past season, Latu totaled 94 tackles, 29.5 tackles-for-loss and six sacks.
Latu is a four-star prospect and ranked as the sixth-best weakside defensive end in the country and he’s also the 133rd-best prospect overall, regardless of position, in the 2019 recruiting class.
Latu is the 21st commitment in Washington’s 2019 recruiting class and is set to sign with the Huskies Wednesday morning, the first day of the early signing period. It ends Friday night.
