Kyle Ford Would Be A Great Fit For Washington Football

Washington football’s 2019 recruiting class looks great, but what else do they need after Early Signing Day?

Washington football has done a great job addressing their needs during the early signing period, but what else can they address before early signing day? Someone that would be a big-time acquisition for Chris Petersen would be wide receiver Kyle Ford out of Orange Lutheran High in California.

The Huskies could always use a playmaking wide receiver, and with Jacob Eason in line to be the starting quarterback in 2019, the five-star recruit would probably find a way to get himself on the field right away. Aaron Fuller, Ty Jones, Hunter Bryant, and Andre Baccellia have all been excellent playmakers for the Huskies this season, but you can never have too many. Especially with freshmen Marquis Spiker, Austin Osborne and Trey Lowe waiting in the wings, there are a ton of talented playmakers around for the Huskies. Ford could prove himself to be better the most talented out of all of them. Ford would be a great addition outside the numbers and could slide Aaron Fuller into the slot, with Ty Jones on the other side.

Ford already has strong UW ties, as he’s coached at Orange Lutheran by Austin Pettis. Pettis is not only the cousin of former Husky Dante Pettis, but he also played for Chirs Petersen at Boise State. Ford has indicated that he’s narrowed his final five schools down to three, Washington, Oregon, and USC.

“They have a strong coaching staff, a great group of players, I like the offense and they have good quarterbacks in the system. Jacob Eason will be there next year and he’s an NFL guy with a big arm. The coaches told me they don’t really have a receiver like me and there is a lot of opportunity for playing time. They like my size and ability to stretch the field and want to move me around and feature me in the offense,” Ford said of Washington in an interview with Greg Biggins of 247 Sports.

A bold prediction if Ford were to commit to UW, the Huskies would have the number one passing offense in the country. With Eason at quarterback and the speedy Salvon Ahmed projected as the feature back, plus a full season of Hunter Bryant, there will be options aplenty for Eason and defenses will not be able to cover all of the weapons for the Huskies.
