The final College Football Playoff foursome was just unveiled on ESPN. Ohio State did not make the cut.
Oklahoma got the No. 4 slot in the final rankings, meaning the Sooners will play No. 1 Alabama in the Orange Bowl. No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Notre Dame will meet in the Cotton Bowl.
Ohio State did not gain any ground, despite winning the Big Ten Championship Game yesterday. The Buckeyes remained at No. 6, with Georgia dropping from No. 4 to No. 5 after losing to Alabama.

This means the Buckeyes will be heading to a New Year’s Six Bowl. They are locked into the Rose Bowl against the Pac-12 champion Washington Huskies.
A great matchup in a classic venue, but still a disappointment on some level for Ohio State fans.

Ohio State’s lone loss at Purdue and inconsistency throughout the season apparently weighed heavily on the committee. For the second year in a row, the Buckeyes are Big Ten champs but will not be in the playoff.
OSU and Washington will face off in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
