This weekend was a quite weekend and on Montlake with the Huskies hosting only 1 unofficial visitor from the 2020 class. Several of the current Huskies commits and targets are participating in the Polynesian Bowl this next week and Coach Pete has been looking for a new wide receiver coach.
The Polynesian Bowl is the last of the All Star Games and it will be played on the 19th of January at 10 pm PST on CBS Sports Network. Here is a look at some of the Huskies targets and commits who will be participating:
4 star defensive tackle and Husky signee Faatui Tuitele from St. Louis HS, HI.
4 star defensive end and Husky signee Laiatu Latu from Jesuit HS, CA.
4 star offensive lineman and Husky signee Julius Buelow from Kapolei HS, HI received a waiver to play in the game even though he is enrolled at UW already.
4 star offensive tackle and current Husky signee Nathaniel Kalepo from Rainier Beach HS, WA.
4 star defensive lineman and current Husky signee Sama Paama from Kaimuki HS, Hi.
3 star defensive lineman and Husky signee Noa Ngalu from Menlo Atherton HS, CA.
3 star outside linebacker and current Husky signee Miki Ah You from Kahuku HS, HI will not be playing in the game due to an injury but was selected for the game.
3 star inside linebacker and Husky signee Alphonzo Tuputala from Federal Way HS, WA.
3 star Kicker and Husky signee Tim Horn from Punahou HS, HI.
4 star inside linebacker and Husky target Daniel Heimuli from Menlo Atherton HS, CA. He is scheduled to visit Montlake the weekend before the February signing day and appears to be a Husky lean right now.
4 star Safety and Husky target (was a Husky commit) Asa Turner from Carlsbad HS, CA.
4 star wide receiver and current USC commit Puka Nucua from Orem HS, HI. He is looking at officially visiting UW in the coming weeks.
4 star Linebacker and Husky target Henry To’oto’o from De La Salle HS, CA won’t be playing in the game due to an injury but will be at the game.
The game should be a good chance for all the Husky commits to bond and for them to also bond with some of the major Husky targets still on the board.
The one unofficial visitor the Huskies did have on campus was a 3 star running back Jayveon Sunday from Connally HS, TX. Sunday is listed currently at 5’10” and around 190 pounds. When you watch his film you can see that he runs like a big back, and isn’t a speed guy but a guy who the Huskies could use (he reminds me of former Husky Lavon Coleman a little). Sunday already has offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas and now UW (he received an offer while on campus). The Huskies will probably take 2 running backs in 2020 and the fact the Sunday I officially visited Montlake speaks volumes to his interest in UW.
Here are his highlights from this last year:
That is all for now and as always follow me @asieverkropp.
