Remembering the Washington Huskies’ worst game ever – The Athletic

This is the second in a series about some of the worst games in Seattle sports history, because let’s face it: The most painful moments are sometimes more memorable than the triumphant. Today, we look at the Huskies. Monday, we looked at the Seahawks. Wednesday, it’s the Cougars’ turn. Welcome to the week of Worst. Games. Ever.

You have done everything in your power, surely, to erase this game from your memory, to convince yourself it never actually happened, and here I come, trampling all over those efforts, just to reminisce for a bit about the worst loss in the history of University of Washington football.

Ah, hell. Who am I kidding? You’ll remember the 2008 Apple Cup forever because how could you not? You don’t forget 0-10 vs. 1-10 in a rivalry game. You don’t forget punting from the opponent’s 36-yard line in the fourth quarter. You don’t forget Kevin Lopina to Jared Karstetter. You don’t forget Paul Wulff…
