Washington Football: Update on former Huskies in the NFC

Washington football has sent many players to the NFL over the years. Here is your monthly update on Huskies currently in the NFC.

University of Washington football has a long and glorious tradition of sending players to the NFL. Emerald City Swagger will periodically check in on the progress of Huskies alumni playing at the highest level of professional football. Every fourth week of the month, we will update you on UW players in the NFC. Players in the AFC will be featured during the second week of the month.

NFC East

Philadelphia Eagles: They selected cornerback Sidney Jones in the second round of 2017’s NFL draft. An Achilles injury sidelined him for all but one game last year including the playoffs and Super Bowl. This year he is a backup in the secondary.

Josh Perkins played eight games for Atlanta in 2016 after signing as an undrafted free agent with the Falcons. The tight end had three catches with a touchdown. In 2017 Perkins spent the year on the Falcons practice squad then signed with the Eagles in January to a free agent contract. This season he started one game and caught four passes.

Washington Redskins: Linebacker Mason Foster was drafted by Tampa Bay in 2011’s third round He played four years for the Bucs before moving on to Chicago then landing in Washington. In 2017 he played in only five games for the Skins, starting four before went on injured reserve. He is now back starting for Washington and has 27 tackles.

The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants don’t have any former Huskies on their rosters.
