Washington Huskies Signing Day: 3* Kicker Tim Horn is a Husky

The Huskies announced the signing of the #3 placekicking prospect in the nation after Hawaii native Tim Horn of Punahou High School sent in his letter of intent today.

Horn is a big addition to a team desperate to improve its special teams. Luckily, his commitment was never in doubt.

Placekicking has been a challenge for Chris Petersen and his Huskies since he arrived at Montlake. Cameron Van Winkle, a Steve Sarkisian era holdover, provided Petersen with three solid years before the position became a turnstile rotation of various players with a variety of health, leg strength, and accuracy challenges. The hope is that Horn will become a four year answer at a position that is fairly critical to a program that values defense, field position and ball control.

The 6’3”, 200 lb placekicker originally committed to Washington in July. His other significant offers were from Army and Hawaii though he had interest from several west coast programs.
